AI-powered contract review, benchmarking, and vendor management platform that turns weeks of manual legal work into minutes.

Insights

Challenge: A global biopharma’s procurement team faced a backlog of contract reviews and inconsistent rate benchmarking across thousands of vendor agreements. Legal and procurement spent weeks on each contract identifying redlines and gaps.

Approach: Scimitar designed and deployed a purpose-built procurement intelligence platform. AI and NLP automate contract redlining against historical standards, surface missing clauses and below-benchmark terms, and prioritize highest-risk sections for legal review. Vendor scorecards and dynamic spend dashboards were embedded for negotiation support.

Impact: Contract review cycle times collapsed from weeks to minutes. Negotiation teams gained heatmaps of rates vs. best-in-class, FX-adjustable assumptions, and large-scale mock-study cost roll-ups – directly enabling sharper, evidence-based vendor negotiations.

Custom-Built CTMS-Light

 

Purpose-built clinical trial management system with custom dashboards and near-all critical capabilities of commercial platforms, integrated with existing systems.

Insights

Challenge: A clinical-stage biopharma needed CTMS capabilities (site management, enrollment, protocol deviations, safety monitoring) but commercial platforms were too expensive, too rigid, and too slow to configure for their workflows.

Approach: Scimitar built a custom CTMS-Light with executive and operational dashboards tailored to sponsor, CRO, site, and regulator stakeholders. Real-time enrollment vs. target tracking, automated protocol deviation routing, AE monitoring by System Organ Class, and bi-directional connections to Medidata, Oracle, Veeva, and lab/imaging systems were included.

Impact: The client gained near-all the capabilities of a commercial CTMS at a fraction of the cost, with custom waterfall plots, Kaplan-Meier curves, enrollment funnels, and data-quality scorecards designed around their specific decisions.

Cell & Gene Therapy Supply Chain Tracker

 

Specialized vein-to-vein logistics and compliance platform managing chain of custody, chain of command, and cryogenic monitoring for cell and gene therapies.

Insights

Challenge: A cell and gene therapy supply chain required end-to-end tracking from patient apheresis through manufacturing and back, with strict regulatory compliance (FDA 21 CFR 1271, FACT/JACIE, EU GMP Annex 16, DSCSA) at every handoff.

Approach: Scimitar built a specialized platform with complete digital chain of custody (timestamp, GPS, signatures), enforced chain of command authorization hierarchies, real-time cryogenic temperature monitoring with automated excursion alerts, and 21 CFR Part 11-compliant e-signatures at every release and transfer checkpoint.

Impact: The client achieved a fully digital, audit-ready vein-to-vein record with zero unmonitored handoffs and automated regulatory compliance reporting.
