Rehumanize Work™ | Leadership Gaps Are Habit Gaps, Not Knowledge Gaps

A Rehumanize Work™ Immersion

You have been in leadership development programs before.

You have read the books, attended the trainings, earned the credentials. You know what good leadership looks like. And yet the gap is still there – the trust that never quite builds, the presence that slips when pressure is highest, the version of you in a hard conversation that doesn’t match the leader you intend to be.

Here is the reframe: the problem was never knowledge. The gap between the leader you mean to be and the one others experience is a practice problem – a habit problem. And that’s good news, because habits can be changed.

What Is Leadership Gaps Are Habit Gaps, Not Knowledge Gaps?

This 90-minute interactive session brings the Rehumanize Work™ framework to one of the most persistent challenges in professional life: the gap between the leader you intend to be and the one others actually experience. Through peer discussion and honest examination of the habits already in play, participants leave with a reframe that sticks, a tool they can use immediately, and three concrete practice shifts for the 30 days that follow. This is not a lecture. It is a working session for people who take their leadership seriously.

What You Will Experience

The session begins with a premise most leadership programs never name: you are already leading. Whether or not you hold a formal title, your presence shapes every conversation you’re in, your consistency builds or erodes trust, and your attention sends a signal whether you intend it to or not. The question is not whether you are leading – it’s whether you’re doing it on purpose.

From there, we examine the stories you tell yourself. When someone drops a commitment or seems disengaged, you don’t just observe a behavior – you construct a story around it: they don’t respect the work, they’re not invested. That story feels like fact, and you start leading from it. The gap between what you observed and the story you accepted as true is where most leadership relationships quietly erode. This session gives you the tools to close it.

We also address the question reshaping every professional’s sense of purpose right now: what does AI change about leadership? AI can process, analyze, and automate – but it cannot build a relationship, earn trust over time, or hold space for a hard conversation. As AI absorbs more of the technical work, what remains irreducibly human becomes the differentiator. The leaders who thrive won’t be the ones who use AI best – they’ll be the ones who have invested in what AI can’t replicate.

What Changes

  • A reframe that sticks: leadership development is a practice problem, not a knowledge problem
  • A practical tool for separating what actually happened from the story you built around it – leading from fact, not assumption
  • A clearer picture of the gap between the leader you intend to be and the one others experience, and language for closing it
  • Perspective from peers across levels and functions navigating the same human challenges
  • Three specific habit shifts to experiment with in the 30 days following the session

Who This Is For

This session is for professionals at any level who carry leadership responsibility, whether they manage one person or an entire organization.

You are the right fit if:

  • You’ve invested in your professional development and sense something isn’t translating into how you actually show up
  • You lead people and your best intentions don’t always produce the outcomes you’re hoping for
  • You’re navigating the pace of change in your industry and wondering what your most distinctly human contribution is
  • You’re stepping into a new level of leadership and want to be intentional about the habits you build from the start
  • You’ve been leading for years and are ready to examine what’s still getting in the way

No prior leadership training is assumed. The peer discussion format ensures the room itself becomes a resource.

This Is Part of Something Bigger

This session is a signature offering within Rehumanize Work™, Scimitar’s leadership development practice grounded in a single belief: most leadership challenges aren’t solved by more content. They’re solved by building the habits and intentional practices that make great leadership something you do, not just something you know. Rehumanize Work™ is built around three pillars – Purpose, Presence, and Process – and this session lives at the intersection of all three. It’s where the work begins.
