PACT Consortium launches with 30+ biopharma participants, funding from the Reagan-Udall Foundation, service support from Medable Inc. and Scimitar Inc.
The Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development (Tufts CSDD), formed a pre-competitive consortium with 30+ cutting-edge biopharmaceutical firms, designed to optimize clinical trials and protocols. This consortium is designed to 'remove the fog' of clinical trials through aggregating large volumes of data on various trial elements and tools, to aid in study planning.
These trial elements include software solutions, new AI tools, and DCT elements- technology, processes, and/or services that carry the potential to reduce or eliminate the need for participants to physically visit a traditional research site, such as wearable devices, or direct shipment of products to the homes of participants.
The consortium has been branded PACT — Partnership for the Advancement of Clinical Trials- and will apply a data-driven approach to how companies assess clinical trial elements, with the aim of 'cutting through the fog' to assess real impact on patient benefit, diversity in enrollment, cost, and site impact.
The focus of PACT is threefold:
PACT has already gain significant traction — raising financing from prestigious Reagan-Udall Foundation, and with financial and service support from Scimitar Inc. and Medable Inc. Here, Scimitar will help design the Tufts DCT data sharing platform and design surveys where best practices and benchmarks may be analyzed. Over 30 pharmaceutical, biotech and CRO companies have agreed to take part part, and with a collaboration underway with DTRA to ensure both DCT-focused organizations are working in parallel to advance the field.
About Tufts CSDD
With a reputation for rigorous, unbiased data analysis, the Tufts CSDD will manage all aspects of the PACTs operations, act as coordinating center to compile and analyze the data, facilitate and oversee member participation and consensus-building, and will help direct communication and dissemination of the study findings.
