Insights
Challenge: The client was preparing to lead its first commercial launch and identified a need to determine the organizational infrastructure and launch strategy, plan, and roadmap to ensure readiness for market entry.
Approach: Scimitar conducted a situational assessment of the client’s internal capabilities and market dynamics. Content was used for cross-functional workshops to drive formation of a launch playbook: the product’s launch objectives, strategies, and tactical plans. Subsequent Leadership team interviews identified resource and capability gaps, informing the organizational design and FTE requirements to transition to a commercial company.
Impact: Delivered a tactical launch playbook and commercial organizational model; client successfully launched, which led to its subsequent multi‑billion‑dollar acquisition from a top 10 biopharma company.
Early Commercialization Strategy and Go-to-Market Model Design & Development
Support of commercialization for two gene therapy assets by defining the early commercial strategy and proposing the optimal go-to-market model.
Insights
Challenge: The client was a clinical-stage biopharma company with multiple gene therapy platforms targeting rare diseases. A need was identified to define and early commercialization strategy and explore business model options to support long-term market entry planning.
Approach: We conducted a situational analysis to outline the external and internal landscape in markets of interest. Outputs were leveraged to conduct a workshop to define the critical success factors, commercial objectives, and strategic plan. We integrated the outputs to support market entry model option assessment, considering the client’s corporate strategy and forecasting models. Defined recommended model and associated FTE and cost needs.
Impact: All material and recommendations were packaged into a Board of Directors deck to support near-term planning leading up to target launch dates.
