Rehumanize Work™ | Purpose & Compass
Remember your purpose. Set your compass.
You know why you went into leadership.
At some point, there was a reason — a moment, a person, an experience that pulled you toward this work. You had a sense of the leader you wanted to be.
Then the pace set in. The back-to-back calendar. The reactive cycle. You are still leading. You are just not always sure it looks like you meant it to.
When leaders lose their compass, the organization loses something too. People disconnected from why the work matters execute mechanically — effort gets spent, but momentum does not build. Reconnecting with purpose is not soft. It is the most practical thing a leader can do, because everything else flows from it.
What is the Purpose & Compass Immersion?
Purpose & Compass Immersion is a facilitated leadership experience that helps leaders reconnect with why they do this work — and define, in their own words, how they want to show up. Structured around a Three Acts framework, available as a half-day or full-day experience, in person or virtually, participants leave with two deliverables: a personal leadership statement rooted in their own story, and a start, stop, continue accountability framework that turns it into daily behavior.
Each leader’s compass is explicitly connected to the organization’s direction, so personal purpose and organizational strategy reinforce each other. This is not training. It is the work of choosing who you are as a leader — and where you are headed together.
A compass does not tell you where to go; it tells you your bearing — the orientation you hold, given who you are, to move in the right direction. The organization provides the direction. Each person defines how they will navigate it. When those align, people stop executing and start pulling.
What You Will Experience
The experience moves through three acts.
- Act I — Origin. You return to the moment that first pulled you toward this work, exploring its pull and its imprint. Leaders who can articulate their origin lead with more conviction and more humanity.
- Act II — Identity. You define your compass: five words that describe how you have decided to show up. This becomes your personal leadership statement — the north star for every decision and every room. Your compass is calibrated to the organization’s direction, so your leadership identity is personal and purposefully aligned.
- Act III — Accountability. Using a start, stop, continue framework, you translate your five words into specific, visible behaviors that close the gap between the leader you intend to be and the one others experience.
What Changes
- A personal leadership statement that is genuinely yours — not borrowed language, but words you can lead from in any room
- A start, stop, continue accountability framework that makes the work visible and actionable
- The relief of reconnecting with why this work matters, and clarity on how your purpose connects to something larger
- For teams: alignment that used to require constant management begins to emerge on its own, as people see how their own compass connects to the same direction
Who This Is For
You are the right fit if:
- You are a strong performer who wants more presence, purpose, and humanity in how you lead
- You are navigating a transition — new role, new team, new responsibility — and want to be deliberate about who you are becoming
- You sense something important has gotten lost in the pace of the work
- You lead a team and want a shared language connecting each person’s purpose to the organization’s direction
- You have never been asked who you want to be as a leader — and are ready to answer
This works for individuals and teams across industries and levels, as a half-day or full-day session, in person or virtually.
This is Part of Something Bigger
Purpose & Compass Immersion is the foundational experience within Rehumanize Work™, Scimitar’s leadership development practice built on the belief that durable change begins with the intentional inner life of the leader. Rehumanize Work™ is anchored in three pillars: Purpose, clarity on what matters most; Presence, showing up fully; and Process, the disciplines that sustain change. This immersion lives in the Purpose pillar — it is where the work begins.
This immersion works best when the organization already has a direction to calibrate to — a clear vision, mission, and strategic roadmap. If that foundation doesn’t yet exist, the Vision, Mission, Purpose & Strategic Roadmap Immersion is the natural first step, and a powerful companion to this work.
One-on-one coaching is also available for leaders who want the compass to stick — translating it into daily practice with a guide alongside you.
